BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A Buffalo man was sentenced to serve over two decades in prison for fatally shooting a man at a stop light, the Erie County District Attorney’s Office announced.
Mujihad Miller, 45, was sentenced to 23 years in prison followed by five years post-release supervision. He previously pleaded guilty to manslaughter in the first degree.
At approximately 2:15 p.m. on Oct. 16, 2022, Miller shot the victim at a stop light at the intersection of William and Hickory Streets. The victim, identified as 30-year-old John “Rico” Walker, Jr., was sitting inside a vehicle, authorities said.
According to authorities, the weapon used was an illegal handgun.
Walker was taken to ECMC with a gunshot wound to the head and died a few days later.
