3 teens arrested after Orchard Park stolen vehicle pursuit

ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (WIVB) — Three teens are facing multiple charges after allegedly leading police on a pursuit involving a vehicle stolen out of Orchard Park, police announced.

The Orchard Park Police Department said an officer was conducting a premise check around 2:50 a.m. Wednesday in a neighborhood off of Powers Road when he observed a vehicle “operating at a high rate of speed” with no rear tail lights illuminated.

Police said the officer attempted to conduct a traffic stop but the vehicle refused to stop and fled from the scene and a pursuit ensued.

The vehicle then entered the Route 219 expressway traveling northbound from Armor Duells Road and an awaiting officer deployed stop sticks, striking three of the vehicle’s tires.

The vehicle continued to flee onto I-90 and exited at Ridge Road, police said. The vehicle was stopped due to flat tires and three individuals fled from the vehicle, according to police.

All three suspects, a 17-year-old male and two 18-year-old males, were arrested after individual foot chases and returned to the Orchard Park Police Department.
