Kenmore woman indicted for overdose death in Buffalo

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A Kenmore woman has been indicted for allegedly selling fentanyl-laced cocaine that resulted in the death of a man in Buffalo in August, the Erie County District Attorney’s office said Thursday.

35-year-old Ashley Holmes is accused of selling the drugs to 47-year-old Robert Chimera, who overdosed and died on Linden Avenue in Buffalo. Holmes was arrested on Aug. 19, the same day authorities were called to the residence. Authorities said that during the investigation, a quantity of fentanyl-laced cocaine was found in her bedroom at her Kenmore residence.

She is charged with criminally negligent homicide, third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance and third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.

If convicted of the highest count, she faces up to nine years in prison. She was held on $500,000 bail.
