Former Buffalo Bills offensive coordinator Ken Dorsey was introduced as the Cleveland Browns’ new offensive coordinator on Monday.
And unsurprisingly, it didn’t take long for a media member to ask Dorsey about getting fired by the Bills last season.
“Look, at the end of the day, the head coach (Sean McDermott) decided to make a change,” said Dorsey . “And that’s, you know, something that I’ve turned the page on. I’m really excited to be here. I’m more focused on this opportunity than what happened there.”
A reporter followed up by asking Dorsey what he learned from getting fired for the first time in his career.
The only problem with that question?
Dorsey was previously fired by the Carolina Panthers after the 2017 season, which he awkwardly noted to the reporter.
Ouch. Very awkward. But hey, almost everyone in the NFL has been fired or will be fired at some point — even Bill Belichick has been fired (twice, essentially).
Dorsey was fired by the Bills after the team got off to a disappointing 5-5 start this past season. Buffalo went 6-1 the rest of the season with Joe Brady as the team’s interim offensive coordinator. Brady has since earned the full-time offensive coordinator job in Buffalo.
