BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A 33-year-old Buffalo man was sentenced to 16 years to life in prison on a weapons charge, the Erie Country District Attorney announced Thursday, adding that the man was sentenced as a persistent violent felony offender.
During the arrest in August 2021, officers initiated a routine traffic stop on East Ferry Street and, while approaching the vehicle, allegedly witnessed Terrance Boyd hand a bag to another individual in the back seat. After recovering the bag, officers uncovered an illegal loaded handgun. Through a DNA analysis, investigators were able to link Boyd to the gun.
Boyd was found guilty in October 2023 on one count of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree after a four day trial.
