BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A 60-year-old Amherst resident was arrested and charged with multiple felonies after allegedly burglarizing multiple residents and impersonating a law enforcement official over a near three-week period, the Buffalo police announced.
On Jan. 20, police said they responded to the scene of a residence on Northrup Place for a call reporting that a known individual had allegedly made threatening calls about cutting power lines and kicking down the door of the residence.
The victim of the residence said that the individual, later identified as Fonda Brigis, had a “badge of unknown origin” and was believed to be armed, according to police.
On Jan. 26, police said they responded to the same residence for an attempted robbery call. They said Brigis attempted to gain entry into the residence while allegedly continuing to make verbal threats to the victim.
On Jan. 29, Behavioral Health team detectives, police said, received three individual complaints about Brigis, stating that Brigis, allegedly, would flash a badge and claim to be a member of law enforcement.
