Time, channel for US Open tennis final: How to watch Jessica Pegula vs Aryna Sabalenka

Buffalo-native Jessica Pegula has a chance to win the first Grand Slam title of the year Saturday.

Pegula, who’s currently ranked sixth in the world, faces second-seeded Aryna Sabalenka in the finals of the U.S. Open tennis tournament.

Pegula rallied to beat Karolina Muchova, 1-6, 6-4, 6-2 on Thursday in the semifinals.

The 30-year-old admitted she was overwhelmed at first Thursday night.

“I came out flat. She made me look like a beginner,” Pegula said on ESPN. “I was about to burst into tears. She was destroying me and I was able to find a way, find some adrenaline, find my legs and then I started to play how I wanted to play. It took awhile, but I don’t know how I turned that around honestly.”

Now Pegula, daughter of Kim and Terry Pegula, is set to play in the biggest match in her career. Pegula had never advanced this far at a Grand Slam, losing six times in the quarterfinals over the past four years.
