Bank robber who used same demand note in series of heists nabbed in Bensalem with bag of cash

PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Bensalem police say they caught a serial bank robber as he left a bank in the township carrying a bag of stolen cash.

Marc Masich, 47, of Amherst, New York, was taken into custody on Monday just before 5:30 p.m. in the parking lot of the PNC Bank at Hulmeville Road near Byberry Road, according to the Bensalem Township Police Department.

Officials say a police officer noticed a black Nisan sedan without a license plate was left running with no one inside. A few minutes later, a man, now identified as Masich, ran out the front door with a bag. Police say he stole approximately $4,000 from the bank after giving the teller a note that read: “Give me all the money in your drawer and, make sure it does not have any trackers in it.”

Authorities say Masich used that note about 20 minutes earlier at the TD bank along state road near Mechanicsville Road. The teller there told the robber that he couldn’t access the cash machine, causing the man to leave the scene.
