Even though a new year often brings a “new you,” some people will never change their ways. As someone who is an avid consumer of all things true crime, I do understand the difficulties people face in moving from a life of crime into a law-abiding citizen. People face so many challenges, including mental health, drugs, family issues, and of course plain old greed. I tend to watch ‘Lock Up’ frequently (I am the person who watches reruns like they are new). Many times, the people in the episode have a history of going to prison. They will often say, “I will not be back.” And guess what? They usually do.
