( WJET/WFXP ) – As more lake-effect snow hits the region, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation has reduced the speed limit on roadways in the northwest region.
A 45 mph speed restriction is in effect on the following roads:
· I-79 from Exit 147 (Route 19/Route 322/Route 6/Meadville) to the end of I-79 in Erie County.
· I-90 from the Ohio state line to the New York state line.
While this restriction is in place, commercial vehicles must move to the right lane.
Drivers can check the live status of Pennsylvania roads using the 511PA website.
