A traffic stop in the City of Dunkirk’s Third Ward led to the arrest of a Buffalo man on felony drug possession charges. Dunkirk Police pulled over a vehicle in the area of East 5th Street and Washington Avenue for several violations shortly before 4:15 PM Tuesday and found that the driver, 34-year-old Lazaro Pintuele-Gonzalez, had suspended New York State driving privileges. Officers say further investigation led to the discovery of a significant amount of narcotics in the vehicle. They seized more than 42 grams of suspected cocaine packaged in a manner consistent with street-level narcotics sales. A warrant was requested, and Pintuele-Gonzalez was taken into custody on Wednesday. He was charged with two counts of 3rd-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, one count of 2nd-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, and various vehicle and traffic violations. Pintuele-Gonzalez was held at Dunkirk Police headquarters pending arraignment.
