BUFFALO, N.Y. — Changes for short-term rental owners could be coming to the City of Buffalo as the Common Council looks to pass new legislation to combat what some call neighborhood investment and others a neighborhood nuisance.
The council passed a 60-day moratorium on all new short-term rental applications in December, and during that stoppage it worked out a new set of rules for rentals like Airbnbs and Vrbos. The legislation was presented for the first time at Tuesday’s council meeting.
The new rules focus on non-owner-occupied rentals and change where said units can or cannot be located based on how an area is Zoned.
