Police in Niagara County spent the past week arresting people accused of crimes. Niagara County is made up of quite a few cities, towns, and villages, including the City of Lockport, the City of North Tonawanda, the City of Niagara Falls, the Town of Lewiston, the Town of Lockport, the Town of Wheatfield, and the Village of Youngstown.
A Wheatfield man was recently arrested by State Police on weapons charges. The NYSP Community Stabilization Unit arrested 43-year-old Justin A. Schoelles for Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd – Assault Weapon- 2 counts (D Felony), Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd – Silencer – 2 counts (D Felony), Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd- High -capacity magazines- 20 counts (D Felony), Unlawful Purchase of Body Armor – A Misdemeanor and Unlawfully Possessing of Selling Noxious Materials -B Misdemeanor.
New York State Police Troop A Community Stabilization Unit, along with the Special Investigations Unit Buffalo, CTIU NICS West, SP Lockport BCI and NYSP Bomb Disposal Unit executed a search warrant on Niagara Road in the town of Wheatfield. Schoelles was taken into custody, and multiple weapons were confiscated. Agents with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives assisted with the arrest. He was taken to SP Lockport and processed, then taken to Niagara County Jail.
