Buffalo, N.Y. – Western New Yorkers could see power outages, flooded roads, and downed trees Monday afternoon as a line of severe storms sweeps through the region from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m., with flash flooding risks continuing into the early morning hours Tuesday.
According to the National Weather Service in Buffalo, strong thunderstorms are expected to develop ahead of a cold front moving across western and central New York, including the Genesee Valley. The storms may bring isolated wind gusts up to 60 mph and torrential rainfall, increasing the likelihood of flash flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
