Sudanese man arrested at Peace Bridge for failure to appear at murder trial

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A citizen of Sudan, who is also a lawful permanent resident of the United States, was arrested at the Peace Bridge on Friday for allegedly failing to appear for a murder trial, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) announced.

CBP said officers encountered Ball Salim Ahmed Ball, 29, coming into the U.S. as the only occupant in a personal vehicle. Ball said he was visiting friends in Canada for a few days.

Officers then discovered that Ball had an active warrant for his arrest out of Fairfax County, V.A, on original charges of first-degree murder and strangulation…
