BUFFALO, N.Y. — A homeless man who police say was a squatter in a Buffalo house last year when he killed two repairmen was found guilty Friday of multiple charges of murder and weapons possession.
Because of the guilty verdict on the first-degree murder charge, Cummings faces the possibility of life in prison, court officials said.
Erie County District Attorney Mike Keane called the murders senseless, saying in a statement Friday night, “These two men were working as handymen when they encountered an armed squatter inside a vacant home. Tragically, their lives ended when this defendant intentionally shot both victims with an illegal semi-automatic rifle near the entrance and continued to fire shots as they retreated outside.’ He added, “I hope their families feel justice has been served by this defendant being convicted…”…
