HAMBURG, N.Y. — With a snip of ceremonial scissors, the ribbon cutting Saturday officially marked the grand opening of the Hamburg Skatepark — a long-anticipated project now fully realized on Electric Avenue.
What began as a grassroots effort has grown into a state-of-the-art facility for skaters of all ages and skill levels. The skatepark offers a safe, professionally designed space where skateboarders can hone their craft close to home, and it’s already making a difference for local enthusiasts.
“Not only is it brand new, like awesome concrete,” said Jackson Carrig, a local skater whose family helped lead the push for the park. “But hey, now we don’t have to drive 30 minutes outside of town to skateboard.”…
