BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A Buffalo man was sentenced for attempted murder on Tuesday morning after he shot a man with an illegal gun on the East Side last year, according to the Erie County District Attorney’s Office.
Charles Hooks, III, 45, shot a 26-year-old victim during an argument on Reed Street on April 17, 2024. The victim was shot in the leg on the 300 block of Reed Street and shot at again as he ran for help. He was taken by ambulance to ECMC.
Hooks was arrested 12 days later. He was sentenced to a determinate sentence of seven years in prison and three years of post-release supervision after pleading guilty in April 2025…
