New York schools announcing schedule changes due to extreme heat

Schools in Western and Central New York have started changing class schedules due to the hot weather predicted to arrive in upstate New York early next week.

Gov. Kathy Hochul warned the heat index is expected to soar past 100 degrees on Monday and Tuesday and into the 90s on Wednesday across upstate.

Buffalo Public Schools announced half-day schedules for Monday and Tuesday for pre-K, elementary and middle school students.
