Syracuse man charged after victim accidentally shot, injured near Alden

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A Syracuse man is facing multiple charges after he accidentally shot and injured a man inside a vehicle near Alden on Saturday, according to the Erie County Sheriff’s Office.

Officials said Kyi Tein Tun, 22, and a 26-year-old man were leaving a business on Westwood Road in Alden on Saturday afternoon when the 22-year-old’s handgun went off. The bullet struck the victim under his right arm. The gun was allegedly determined to be illegally possessed.

The victim was transferred to Mercy Hospital of Buffalo, then ECMC for treatment of his non life-threatening injuries…
