Britesmith Brewing sets itself apart by providing the kind of elevated experience you don’t normally get at a local brewery. With table service and elevated comfort food, it’s probably more accurate to describe it as a French-style brasserie than an American-style taproom. (Fun fact: the word “brasserie” is French for brewery.)
The new Britesmith location on Niagara Street takes this unique approach and brings it to a larger scale in the same industrial building that used to house the old Resurgence Brewing Company location.
In a recent phone call, director of operations Brian Harzewski says the original Britesmith opening before the COVID shutdowns in 2020 was a blessing in disguise because it let management refine their concept after a trial run.
“COVID gave us an opportunity that most restaurants don’t get,” Brian says. “We were able to open, see what kind of business we were getting, pause, analyze and pivot. For example, our beer garden was designed to be a space with cornhole and Adirondack chairs. COVID forced us to put tables out there for dining, which turned out to be a pretty awesome move.”…
