Erie County Sheriff’s Office issues e-bike safety reminders

BUFFALO, N.Y. — The Erie County Sheriff’s Office is putting out a reminder to parents and teens as summer vacation gets underway about e-bike safety.

The Erie County Sheriff’s Office says there’s been a huge uptick in accidents involving e-bikes. And, while the rules can be different depending on where you live, there are some that apply everywhere in New York State.

One of the main rules is that you have to be at least 16 to ride an e-bike in New York. And, you can only ride e-bikes on roads where the speed limit is 30 miles per hour or below…
