Tenants Demand Change at 201 Ellicott Apartments Amid Ongoing Complaints

BUFFALO, N.Y. — Current and former residents of the 201 Ellicott Apartments in downtown Buffalo gathered Monday evening to protest what they call years of negligent management, calling for immediate changes to improve living conditions in the state-funded affordable housing complex.

Tenants say issues at the building, which opened in 2021 with support from New York State’s five-year affordable housing plan, began around two years ago — shortly after management switched from Belmont Housing to Corvus Property Intelligence.

“I loved it. It was clean. It was beautiful,” former resident Idette Johnson said. “Now it’s trash. The carpet is filthy. The hallways are a mess. It’s a mess.”…
