Buffalo man sentenced after fatally stabbing girlfriend during argument

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – A Buffalo man was sentenced to 15 years in prison followed by five years of supervision after he stabbed his girlfriend during an argument and she later died, according to the Erie County District Attorney’s Office.

On November 4, 2022, James L. Allen, 69, and his girlfriend, Yashika Page, got into a verbal argument inside the latter’s home on Cambridge Avenue, and Allen stabbed Page with a kitchen knife during the fight. Allen and a young male got into an altercation after that resulting in a cut to the victim’s hand.

Allen’s bail was initially set at $25,000 and he was initially charged with the following:

  • Second-degree assault
  • Third-degree assault
  • Endangering the welfare of a child
  • Second-degree harassment

Page, who was taken in an ambulance to ECMC with injuries, died of the ailments at 44 years old on November 11. The next day, Allen was arraigned on one count of second-degree murder and held without bail…
