Health Code Violations In Niagara County Last Month

Niagara County has published a list of restaurants that had health code violations during their latest inspections in June. Sadly, some restaurants aren’t concerned with the health and safety of their customers. That’s why it is so important to support the restaurants that passed their health code inspections.

Each county has food inspectors who visit restaurants and other places that prepare food, like churches and schools. They give grades to each spot and make sure they are following the food preparation protocols that help keep us and our families safe. Their reports can include violations such as “Food contact surfaces not washed, rinsed and sanitized after each use and following any time of operations when contamination may have occurred,” and critical violations like “Enough refrigerated storage equipment is not present, properly designed, maintained or operated so that all potentially hazardous foods are cooled properly and stored below 45°F as required.”

There seem to be a lot of threats when it comes to our food supply. There have been a number of recalls lately, including pulled pork, turkey bacon, and Ritz crackers. It almost seems like you have to grow and harvest your own food in order to make sure it’s safe. There is good news, though! Last month, in June, 41 restaurants in Niagara County passed their health code inspections with zero violations! The number is down, though. In May, there were 92 restaurants that passed. You can view all the spots that did not pass their health code inspections in June here…
