New York Attorney General says it’s ‘monitoring’ the Granville case

BUFFALO, N.Y. — State Attorney General Letitia James’ office is “monitoring” the controversial police misconduct case of Erie County Sheriff’s Chief of Narcotics and Intelligence Daniel “D.J.” Granville, a spokesperson for her office confirmed Thursday.

The acknowledgement comes one day after one of Buffalo’s senior lawmakers urged James to launch an independent investigation into the Granville scandal, one of the region’s most high-profile police misconduct cases in years.
