It’s Time to Take Back Allentown: Attend National Night Out event at Symphony Circle and demand safer streets!

National Night Out has become an extremely important undertaking. This event demonstrates the need for neighbors to be present and vigilant. What does that mean? It means that bodies on porches and eyes on the street is just as important as police officers walking a beat.

As neighborhoods like Allentown are confronted with more instances of criminal behavior, it’s time to – once again – take our streets back. This starts by walking, biking, or simply sitting on a front porch. It’s also important to talk to neighbors, and attend block club meetings. In Allentown, Mitch Nowakowski (Fillmore District) is the council representative, which means that he’s the person that neighbors should express their concerns to. The time is now, to make those 311 phone calls, to address the situations at hand, and to attend an upcoming National Night Out event at Symphony Circle – sponsored by the Allentown Association and the Kleinhans Community Association.

“Come out to Symphony Circle next Tuesday (6pm) for the annual National Night Out Picnic. The Allentown Association will be grilling hot dogs and will provide snacks. Bottled water will be available for all. Bring a salad or dessert to share and get to know neighbors from every corner of Allentown. Elected officials and leadership from Buffalo Police B District will stop by and be available to listen to concerns from residents. There will be giveaways for kids, including sunglasses, jump ropes and fidget bracelets and games including Can Jam, ring toss, ladder ball and more. Buffalo Niagara Medical Campus Staff will be there to provide information on healthy eating for families.” – Allentown Association…
