WHEELING, W.Va. (WTRF) — Authorities are searching for four missing grandparents who vanished while traveling from Buffalo to Pittsburgh earlier this week.
The family members — Asha Divan, Kishore Divan, Shailesh Divan, and Gita Divan — were last seen on Tuesday after making a stop at a Burger King on Peach Street in Erie, Pennsylvania. Surveillance footage from the restaurant shows two of them entering the building. Their last known credit card transaction was made there.
The four were traveling together in a light green Toyota Camry with New York license plate EKW2611. A photo of the vehicle and plate has been released to the public.
Police said the group was en route to Pittsburgh and planned to continue to Moundsville, West Virginia, where they had prepaid for lodging at Prabhupada’s Palace of Gold for Tuesday night. Marshall County detectives said the Divans never checked in and their cell phones have gone unanswered since Tuesday.
The only potential signs of movement came early Wednesday, when signals from their cell phones were recorded in both Moundsville and Wheeling around 3 a.m. Sources say a search and rescue helicopter was deployed Friday to search along their expected route, but no sign of the group or their vehicle has been found…
