The eagle was transferred to the Erie County SPCA for treatment

Recently, a bald eagle was discovered in Angelica by the side of a road. She had a severe wing injury and was unable to fly. The NYS Department of Environmental Conservation brought the eagle to the SPCA’s Wildlife Department, and our veterinary team immediately began their assessment.
X-rays revealed that she had a fractured humerus, an open fracture so severe that the bone was protruding. In addition, two of her talons were damaged and had come off completely. While this sounds alarming, our wildlife veterinarians don’t think that this injury will inhibit her future ability to hunt…
