When will the drought end in Western New York

Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN) – With heat and humidity ramping up in Wester New York, the drought is something that has not been seen since 2017 according to meteorologist Andy Parker.

“What we’re in now is what’s called a flash drought, where it’s not really long term issue, but it’s developed at the beginning of July, and we’ve been in this pattern where there’s a number of communities, chunks of the North towns into central Erie County that have been dry for about a month now, and it’s starting to show in the grasses and lawns across Western New York.” Said Parker.

Buffalo has the largest population in the United States that has not reached over 100 degrees. Parker expects it to stay that way…
