A man was fatally shot by police during a Wednesday afternoon encounter in North Buffalo involving Cheektowaga officers, authorities confirmed.
The shooting happened around 12:30pm at a home on Sanders Road according to Cheektowaga Police Chief Brian Coons. Officers were there attempting to take a suspect into custody in connection with an August 11th assault at a Cheektowaga hotel.
