North Tonawanda man admits to hitting pedestrian near Highmark Stadium

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A North Tonawanda man pleaded guilty on Monday to injuring a pedestrian in a hit-and-run and driving while intoxicated in December near Highmark Stadium, the Erie County District Attorney’s Office announced.

Anthony Mayo, 31, pleaded guilty to one count of driving while intoxicated and one count of leaving the scene of an incident without reporting resulting in personal injury.

At 7:46 p.m. on Dec. 22, 2024, Mayo was driving drunk when he hit a pedestrian, identified as a 39-year-old man of Rochester, on Abbott Road. Mayo then drove away from the scene without calling police…
