You are invited to join members of the Newton Family for their Farm Fundraiser on Saturday, August 23rd at their farm on Newton Road in Orchard Park, NY. With live music, food trucks, and a beer tent, this will be an exciting afternoon for a great cause.
Whenever I can get the chance to give back to the agriculture community, and family farms, I am going to help out however I can. Farm families are the backbone of our community. Nationwide, we are seeing more and more farmland dwindling away for development. It is a trend that we have seen not only happen in the “flyover” states, but also right here in Western New York.
Whatever the reason, and whatever the case might be for why the land is being sold, I think these smaller farms, wide open spaces, and the heritage of agriculture are worth preserving.

The land that the Newton family is trying to preserve can be seen from the 219 when you head south from Armor Duells to Boston. Typically, there are a cows scattered among the fields and it makes for a beautiful setting that has been kept as a farm, and lasted for more than 200 years. The land along Newton Road that has been in the family for generations is at risk of being sold and likely used for housing.
