Misuta Chows Closes After Bankruptcy And Pandemic Struggles

In 2024, they announced that they were filing for bankruptcy, and just a year later, they announced that they were closing for good.

Misuta Chows is closing its doors

They have been known for their Japanese theming, arcade games, and 80s pop culture vibe. Misuta Chows is a restaurant that always seems to be packed, but unfortunately, it is going to go down the same path as many other restaurants that were affected by closures following the COVID-19 pandemic. Restaurants such as Osteria 166, Dinosaur Barbeque, and Toutant also suffered the same fate this year.

Many restaurants found themselves going into debt during the pandemic because they weren’t allowed to open their doors for patrons, but still had to pay rent. In the case of Misuta Chows, they just had unfortunate timing when it came to when they filed. Their original Chapter 11 filing happened just days before the shutdown, so they were unable to apply for the federal relief funds and protections that other businesses used to help climb out of debt.
