Judge denies motion to dismiss federal firearm charges in Buffalo mass shooter case

A federal judge said Monday that mass shooter Payton Gendron must face trial for firearms charges connected to the 2022 shooting at a Buffalo Tops supermarket that left 10 Black people dead and three injured.

Defense attorneys tried to get the charges tossed, arguing the hate crime charges that Gendron is currently facing are not crimes of violence.
