BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — REACH Academy Charter School welcomed students back on Monday morning with balloon arches, live music and even a red carpet to mark the first day of the new school year.
The celebration was designed to set a positive tone for the year and make students, known at the school as “scholars,” feel valued from the moment they walked in.
“It’s all about making it exciting for kids,” said Anthony Favata, the principal of REACH Academy Elementary School. “We want our scholars to come to school and have a love for school, a love for learning. It’s truly their home away from home. We’re their family and we want them to be excited and ready for the first day of school.”…
