BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — The Serta Simmons Bedding facility in Chatauqua County is set to close and eliminate 84 employees in the next few months, a spokesperson said.
The decision comes after the company announced the closure of its facility in Moreno Valley, Calif., this summer, where 180 jobs were eliminated.
“We are continuing to build a best-in-class supply chain at SSB,” Jamie Wallis, Serta’s vice president of communications, said in a statement. “As part of these efforts, we are optimizing our manufacturing footprint and creating operational efficiencies that best leverage our network so we can continue delivering exceptional service to our retail partners and customers. This includes expanding our operations in some areas and consolidating or closing other operations.”…
