BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — Acting Buffalo Mayor Chris Scanlon and Councilmember Mitch Nowakowski are suing Comptroller Barbara Miller-Williams over a capital budget conflict that has left multiple city projects in limbo.
The Buffalo Common Council passed an $110 million infrastructure plan in December 2024, but there has not been a “shovel in the ground” this capital budget year, according to Scanlon.
Investments include $55 million to Buffalo Public Schools for heating, lighting and more, $26.5 million for infrastructure projects on Main Street and Bailey Avenue, $3 million for firefighters and police and $2 million for cultural institutions…
