Buffalo set to host the 2025 World Canals Conference

BUFFALO, N.Y. – Ten countries and 22 states will be represented in upstate New York for the World Canals Conference, which coincides with the bicentennial celebration of the Erie Canal. Buffalo is playing host to the conference.

The conference “gathers experts and enthusiasts from all over the world to share innovative practices related to economic and community development, waterway management, tourism, and historic preservation along inland waterways around the globe.”

Things get underway at Canalside on Sunday (noon-5 p.m.) with the Erie Canal Bicentennial Summer Sendoff, and discussions on waterway management and community development will happen Monday through Thursday…
