BUFFALO, N.Y. — A Buffalo family from the Democratic Republic of Congo now has a safe place to call home, thanks to Habitat for Humanity.
A ribbon-cutting and dedication ceremony was held Friday outside the new house on Bird Avenue on the city’s West Side.
The home was built for Fabrice Sabiti Oyo, who became a U.S. citizen after fleeing war and violence in his home country. Hundreds of volunteers spent the past year constructing the house, dedicating nearly 5,000 hours to the project…
