BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A mistrial was declared Monday in the case of a man previously convicted of murdering a woman in Tonawanda over 30 years ago, according to the Erie County District Attorney’s Office.
Brian Scott Lorenzo was convicted in the murder of 33-year-old Deborah Meindl at her Franklin Street residence. Meindl was stabbed, beaten and strangled to death on Feb. 17, 1993, documents said.
Lorenzo was sentenced to 37 and a half years to life in prison, but a new trial was scheduled in 2023 due to DNA evidence on a necktie used in the murder…
