ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Tom Golisano announced $253 million will be going to various children’s hospitals that will be a part of the new “Golisano Children’s Alliance.”
On Tuesday, Golisano said six new children’s hospitals will incorporate Golisano into their name, and join Golisano Children’s Hospitals at the University of Rochester Medical Center, Upstate Golisano Children’s Hospital at SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, Golisano Children’s Hospital of Lee Health in Florida, and the John R. Oishei Children’s Hospital in Buffalo.
Here is a list of the new alliance partners and how much they will be getting:
- University of Vermont Children’s Hospital – $25 million
- West Virginia Medicine Children’s Hospital – $28 million
- Connecticut Children’s Medical Center – $50 million
- Penn State Health Children’s Hospital – $50 million
- University of Kentucky Children’s Hospital– $50 million
- University of Maryland Children’s Hospital– $50 million
The six new hospitals will still run independently, according to Golisano. But Golisano says they will be able to share research, training, best practices, and advocate altogether for stronger pediatric healthcare across the country all through collaborating, shared learning, and a connected name.
The goal of the alliance is to strengthen collaboration and pediatric care to make sure all children and families have access to the highest quality medical care close to home…
