Illinois man pleads guilty to attempted kidnapping of Buffalo student

Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN) – An Illinois man has pleaded guilty to several felony charges stemming from an attempted kidnapping inside Dr. Charles R. Drew Science Magnet School 59 in Buffalo last February.

According to the Erie County District Attorney’s Office, 31-year-old Shane Cronin of Lombard, Ill. illegally entered the school on Feb. 11 at about 12:35 p.m., approached two students in a hallway, and attempted to abduct one of them.

When a school employee told him to leave, Cronin punched her in the face and shoved her to the ground, prosecutors said…
