National Grid gives $275K to food banks across New York

As food insecurity climbs across the state, National Grid is stepping in with $275,000 in funding for food banks and pantries from Buffalo to Long Island.

The company announced the donation on November 14 as part of its broader “Grid for Good” initiative. The funding will go toward helping local organizations purchase and distribute food to families facing economic hardship—support that leaders say is arriving at a critical time.

“Families in our communities need our help more than ever,” said Komie Jain, National Grid’s Global Head of Social Impact and Community Engagement. “We’re grateful to work with our local community partners to help provide food for those in need.”

Local beneficiaries include the United Way of Buffalo and Erie County and FeedMore WNY, which supports hundreds of food pantries across Western New York. Other recipients across the state include the Food Bank of Central New York, Long Island Cares, Island Harvest, and several regional United Way chapters and Catholic Charities groups…
