Wheatfield, N.Y. (WBEN) – An investigation is underway in the Town of Wheatfield after a fire dealt “catastrophic damage” to a barn and killed a cow Sunday night.
The blaze was reported at around 8:10 p.m. Sunday at 3149 Lockport Road. Niagara County Sheriff’s deputies arrived and found multiple structures on the property fully engulfed in flames. The property’s primary barn was deemed a total loss.
Livestock were housed in the barn, with five cows were able to escape the fire. Despite rescue attempts, one cow was killed…
