Murder Suspect Wanted in India Arrested by Border Officers at Buffalo’s Peace Bridge

On November 16, 2025, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers at the Port of Buffalo, Peace Bridge, detained Vishat Kumar, a 22-year-old Indian citizen. Kumar was wanted for murder in India.

He was stopped after being denied entry into Canada and attempting to hide his identity during a secondary inspection. Biometric checks showed he had entered the U.S. illegally in 2024, missed an asylum interview, and was listed on an Interpol Red Notice for murder.
