BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — Collins Correctional Facility, a medium-security prison in Erie County, will consolidate by the end of the fiscal year, the New York State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision said Tuesday.
The prison has a capacity of 1,700.
As part of the plans, the state will consolidate one side of the prison. The change is being done in an effort of “efficiently deploy staff and manage the facility” and is “part of the Department’s ongoing plan to be transparent and consolidate services to ease staffing.”…
