Cedarland Development Group has shifted plans for an affordable housing development on Broadway and Adams Street. A year ago, Cedarland floated plans to demolish a two-story building it owns at 642 Broadway and combine the site with four City owned properties on Broadway and Adams in order to build an 88-unit affordable apartment building. It is now considering townhouses and single-family homes on a much larger footprint.
The multi-family development plan was contingent on finding a nonprofit partner. Cedarland is now proposing 20 townhouses and single-family homes with a funding assist from the New York State Affordable Homeownership Opportunity Program (AHOP).
