Federal immigration officers lied to a local father and businessman about a routine check-in so they could “lure” him to the Buffalo ICE Field Office and detain him, a federal lawsuit claims.
Omar Ramos Jimenez ― the father of a prominent immigration advocate and co-founder of the popular Mexican restaurant La Casa ― was arrested by ICE on Dec. 3. Ramos Jimenez, 50, is originally from Mexico but has lived in Rochester with his family for over 20 years.
