BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A shooting by Cheektowaga police in August that left one man dead was deemed justified by the New York Attorney General’s Office on Tuesday.
On the afternoon of Aug. 13, Hugh Davis, Jr., 60, of Buffalo, was shot by police at an apartment on Sanders Road in Buffalo after he attacked officers with a knife. It is alleged that he punched a hotel worker at a Fairfield Inn and sent him to the hospital with a brain bleed two days earlier. Cheektowaga police were attempting to arrest him for that incident.
Three shots were fired after Davis refused to drop the knife. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Four officers involved were placed on administrative leave at the time…
